Marie Hermo Jensen (1979) was born and raised in Hammerfest, Norway. She started as a student at Solveig Leinan-Hermo at Hammerfest Ballet School. Hermo Jensen studied at Follo Folk High School, School of Contemporary Dance in Oslo (Norway) and has a BA (Hons) from London Contemporary Dance School, where she focused on improvisation and choreography. Later she has taken various courses in various dance techniques and administration, and has worked in design and film editing.

Hermo Jensen has been employed by Stellaris DansTeater since 2003, a company she currently manages with Solveig Leinan-Hermo. Hermo Jensen has many different roles within the company, among other as a dance artist, film artist and project collaborator, as well as in administration and marketing. She has danced in many of the company's productions. Hermo Jensen was Young Choreographer 03/04, and in 2004 she debuted as a choreographer with the performance "Entroduserer". She has created many short dance works, as well as the full-length performances "Anew" (2014) and "Frolic" (2016). She has created many short films, including "Bird" (2018) in collaboration with Leinan-Hermo, Karen Barbour and Gareth Schott.

Hermo Jensen has contributed to Forum for North Norwegian Dance Artists, DanseFestival Barents, the Northern Norwegian regional stage for dance (today Dansearena nord) and Barents Dance Network through Stellaris DansTeater. In 2011, Hermo Jensen was invited to become a trustee of Waikato Contemporary Dance Projects Trust in Waikato, New Zealand. She was an artistic and administrative director for DanseFestival Barents in Hammerfest, Norway 2016-2018, where she also today contributes as an advisor, as well as in production, administration and marketing. In 2019 Hermo Jensen started Moving Community in collaboration with Gaenor Brown/Word Sparks Applied Theatre and in 2020 she co-founded TCDC - Taranaki Contemporary Dance Collective. In 2021 TCDC premiered their first production “Sphere” at the Govett-Brewster Art Gallery/Len Lye Centre in New Plymouth, New Zealand.
