Sphere (2021) by TCDC - Taranaki Contemporary Dance Collective
«Sphere» is a meeting between four dancing humans, Len Lye´s installation “Sky Snakes” and the audience. As dance artists we are naturally drawn towards Len Lye´s kinetic sculptures, feeling a close connection to his work. In this particular work we are being inspired by the sound and sensation of movement, and the relationship between the mechanic and the human organic form. In this space we have questioned how we in these moments relate to the mechanically driven sculpture and the physical kinetics of the human body, alongside the turmoil of both the performer and the outside eye. “What are the provocations which bring physical motion and emotion into play?” Focusing on invitations, persuasions, emotions and intentions, we experience our connection to a kinetic «being» which has no emotions but yet stirs so many within us. Premiered 09.03.21 at the Len Lye Centre/Govett-Brewster Gallery, New Plymouth, NZ. 25 min.
Frolic (2016)
Welcome to the world of fairytales, games and movement. My aim was to create an enjoyable and entertaining experience of popular culture, memories of childhood and to embrace the spirit within our growing dance community in the Waikato. Performed at the Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival, 20-22 February, 5 performances.
Anew (2014)
My first full-length work, where I explored the process of change - an experience involving conflicting feelings, sometimes ending in disappointment, sometimes in joy or wonder. Different voices, new paths and surprising roles emerge and to follow every option is impossible. But certainly something develops - a rebirth, even a renaissance within. Performed at the Hamilton Gardens Arts Festival, 22-24 February, 5 performances. Also developed into a short-film.

Celebrating contemporary dance in Waikato. International Dance Day was introduced in 1982 by the International Dance Committee -ITI, UNESCO. The day is celebrated on the 29th of April around the world across political, cultural and ethical boundaries. The main purpose of Dance Day events is to attract the attention of the wider public to the art of dance. FREE dance performance 29.04.15, 12-1 pm Village Green, featuring choreographies and excerpt from choreographers Karen Barbour, Marie Hermo Jensen, Helene Burgstaller and Eve Veglio-White. The event was supported by The University of Waikato, The Gallagher Academy of Performing Arts and Stellaris DansTeater.

Four dance artists meet to explore movement material in relation to the theme ‘echo’, seen through the eyes of two cultures, Norwegian and Kiwi. A collaboration between stellaris dance nz, Stellaris DansTeater and Waikato Contemporary Dance Project Trust. Performed at Te Pahu Hall, Te Pahu, Friday 18th of January.
